My Dear Sisters in Christ,

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.  1 Peter 4:10-11a

The Leadership Selection Committee is formed for the purpose of prayerfully seeking God’s choice for selected positions.  It is in place to aid in the process of choosing future PWOC leaders.  Through much prayer and a process laid out in the Heart and Hand a committee is put together by the LSC Chair and the President whether it be Local, Regional or International, and their job is to come up with a slate of women who are willing to submit their names to the Selection committee for PWOC Leadership in one of the elected positions of a Local, Regional or International Board.  As the Heart and Hand states, “PWOC Board officers are charged with the solemn duty of providing vision and leadership for the ministry of PWOC. Therefore, the selection of these women is much more than a nominating process, following our own desires and choices.  Rather, it is a process where women are chosen who have already been called and whom God will equip.  These leaders are identified through much prayer and every effort is made to ensure that the women accepting these positions are both competent and called to fulfill the corresponding responsibilities… “This ‘calling’ should be taken seriously and considered prayerfully.

In God’s order, everything flows from the head and so with this model in mind we would like to create an environment that would enable Regional Board Members to have direct access to the corresponding International Board Member and the Local Board Members to have the same access to the corresponding Regional Board Member.  We feel this will create a better connectedness and unity throughout PWOC International.  Our goal is to embrace unity within the Body of PWOC in order to better facilitate communication and live up to our motto:  ‘We are workers together.’  If we keep God as the Head of PWOC International our flow will come from Him and all things will be decent and in order.

We want to be able to answer your questions, offer advise and resources that can help you do your job better and make you feel like you know what you’re doing or at least that you have someone you can go to when you don’t.  Today I want to introduce myself as the Leadership Selection Chair for PWOC International, I want to get the names of your Regional LSC Chairs and I want to remind you that if you don’t have one you really need to put one in place as soon as possible. 

As Presidents you need to choose someone that you trust, someone who knows how to hear and obey God, someone whose Spiritual life reflects a woman of noble character, who loves the Lord and who leans and depends on Him.  She should also be a woman of sound judgment.  Pray and ask the Lord who He would have in that position and even if you don’t agree with God, obey Him.  We want our leadership at every level to reflect the Glory of the Lord and honor Him in all things.

If we are going to continue to move in the direction God wants us to move in as a ministry, we need to have Leadership in place who knows how to recognize where God is working and how to join God in His work.  If you have questions or need further clarification, please let me know and I will do what I can to get answers for you…
