Get Your Spiritual House In Order

Not long ago I said to my husband, “Do you know when I am the craziest?” Being a wise man, he said “That must be a rhetorical question.” Laughing I replied “I am craziest when my house is out of order.” As I pondered this thought over the next week, the Lord continued to bring the word “house” back to me again and again. Originally I was thinking of my physical wood and brick house, but the Lord sweetly taught me to grasp the concept of a “house” more broadly…like my spiritual house. Matthew 25: 1-13 tells the account of the ten virgins. Five were foolish and five were wise. The wise were prepared with oil in their lamps while waiting on their bridegroom. Unfortunately the foolish virgins were unprepared without their “houses” in order and were left behind. My dear sweet sisters, I do not want to be like the foolish virgins and found not taking care of my spiritual housekeeping. I can not take care of my God given husband, children, home or ministry if I do not have my “stuff’ straight with my heavenly home, my Sovereign Lord! So ladies let us put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11), “so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” I charge you all to spend time daily with the Lord, in his word, and in prayer.
